Jim had one of those personalities that I locked on during our first interaction. We had a great connection throughout our 30 years of knowing each other. Even though I'd only see him 3 or 4 times a year, we always talked like it had just been a few weeks between our visits. I miss his Jim'isms, his speech cadence, his laugh (especially when he really cracked up) and his kindness. I can hear him saying on his way to heaven, "I was so late driving to the pearly gates, I waved at myself...

I remember your family fondly from Gresham neighbor days. Our dads both worked at Jantzen. My Deep Sympathy for your loss.

Both my husband Bob and I loved Jim. His excellent sense of humor, engaging personality and interesting stories of his youthful adventures were memorable indeed. We first met him many years ago while having breakfast at a small local restaurant in the neighborhood; he was there with Jeri and her husband John, and happily they joined us at our table and we had the best morning with him! There will be a Celebration of Life at Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday, June 5th at 3 p.m. Both Mom and Dad's ashes will be buried at that time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that a donation be made to OPB or the Oregon Humane Society.
