Jimmy and i go way back. We probability meet in the mid 60's at the Greek Orthodox Church on 16th and Pacific. I too grew up in Long Beach And graduated Wilson High School in 1971. We hit it off immediately. We had common interests, fast cars, loud rock and roll and of course girls. As we got older we raced our Hot Rods all over So-Cal, we saw just about every major rock band from the 60's,70's and 80's, traveled up and down the state for our churchs "Sons of Pericles" Sports conventions...

Jim was a part of our family for many years. He had a great sense of humor and we had a lot of fun and good times together. To us he was still our brother-in-law and an Uncle to our children. We always knew what was happening with him over the years and that he put up a valiant fight against this horrible disease. Dear Jim,
Thank you for your love, the laughs, and those baby blue eyes. I fell in love with you when I was a young girl. I had the honor and pleasure of being your wife. You have always been in my heart, and you always will.
Most of all, thank you for the greatest gift, and production of our lives...Matthew. I promise to take care of him, and you watch over him from above.
You fought the good fight, and you fought longer than anyone else could. I know you did...

Although we saw each other infrequently throughout the years, we were cousins who loved each other. We could easily resume our conversation and affection for each other whenever we spoke, which wasn't as often as it should or could have been. It saddens us that the details of our lives and the distance kept us from being in contact more often. Jimmy, you were a better person than the rest of us. You fought this illness while keeping your wit and charm intact. You did your best to lessen our...

Jim loved baseball. Especially baseball with his Brooklyn cousin, Joe. On many a weekend over the span of 20 years, they shared a special bicoastal telephone friendship. Each would assess the attributes of their respective teams – Jim, the Angels; Joe, the Mets. Jim delighted in listening to Joe defend his Mets, and would (with an obvious twinkle in his eye, easily detected in his voice over the phone) challenge him more so he could savor Joe's distinct Brooklyn accent. His last message...
