Not sure what to say?

My deepest condolences to the entire Applegate family. I hadn't seen Mr. Applegate since I worked as a dining room manager at The Flint Golf Club. Mr. Applegate (Apples) as many of his close golf buddies called him was always kind, generous and was never without a smile and quick wit. Not only is Applegate Chevrolet a Genesee county landmark, so to is Mr. Applegate. He will be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. Jim was a Man I looked up to along with the likes of Woody Skaff and Phil Braun during my years growing up in Flint! He was a true gentleman and a strong Flint supporter. I had the privilege of knowing all 3 of these fine men who shaped my life growing up in Flint! From sponsoring sports teams to sponsoring the City of Flint, these unique individuals will forever be missed! RIP my Friend and mentor!

I am so very sorry for your loss. I hope you find comfort in the loving memories you shared and the tremendous impact he had on so many people's lives.

God is good and merciful, he keep those who pass on in his memory because they are precious to him. Psalms 116:15.

Jim was my father, Gordon Hanes',best friend and employer for 42years. I enjoyed having lunch with he and father at The Masonic Temple all the time. He was a great man!. R.I.P
