Not sure what to say?

Your Dad remains a rare and truly unique person In so many lives. I still work at MHS at 71. I still remember so much of what he taught, be it math, science, football, current events or life. He has so much to teach us even now. If we would remember the ‘short’ stories or how to handle life’s disappointments on Brown’s Monday. They are still with us ! His impact and influence on my life are high points from long ago, yet remain ageless because of his true integrity and unflagging dedication...

I absolutely loved Mr. Armenti. Ill never forget our first day of his class. He went to the blackboard and announced, My name is Mr. Armenti, as he carefully drew three letters, thats G. O. D., ...Armenti. : )

I always wonder how many other people choose that password prompt What is the last name of your favorite teacher? and fill in ARMENTI. There must be hundreds of us. For that is what he will remain. Favorite. Always.

Sandy Mencer, Class of 74

I had the privilege of working with Jim at Manchester High School for a few years. He always made me laugh and feel special. He was often in my thoughts over the years as someone who added warmth to every room he entered. And he was a great dancer. Im not sure how many people knew that!

Let us, for a short time, forget all the laws of physics, dynamics and nature, dismiss the equations, theorems and axioms. Travel to another dimension, one that is possibly out of context with our puny, controlled, programmed and limited brains.
Upon entering this dimension, one achieves instantaneous velocity. Thus, one can be at two places at the same time. If one can be at two places at once then it follows that 3, 4, 5........infinite places are the final result. All places at one...

It's been almost a year since my father's death. I am writing to thank all those who contributed their memories of him. I learned a lot about my father that I never knew, such as his softball cheerleading and the pop quizzes after losses by the Browns, and was reminded about many things I did know, such as his sarcastic sense of humor and his admiration for Paul Simon's lyrics. It was heartening to hear him referred to as the "Joe DiMaggio of MHS teachers."

You may not know that my...

Mr. Armenti was without a doubt one of the best teachers I've ever had at any level of education. I still smile when one of my students decides to "ASSUME" something. Mr. Armenti was passionate about teaching and he cared about his students. It is rare to have a teacher that made you both laugh and learn so much. He will be missed. I extend my belated condolences to his family and friends.

It is with heartfelt sadness that I belatedly learned of the passing of Mr. Armenti. As a teacher he taught me Geometery but so much more. His humor, his gruffness, his teaching methods, his fairness were much appreciated, and his love and respect for his students was always apparent.
He encouraged creativity and welcomed highjinks, but always within limits. I remember how he allowed us students to play around in the chemisty lab during study hall and experiment outside using surgical...

James Armenti, where do I start? I suppose if I had to pick one individual in my life that had the most positive effect or enduring influence on me it would be him. I can recall like it was yesterday the first day of my first class with him (Sept. 1973). I had dallied in the hall a bit too long talking to some young lady (now long forgotten). I walked into his classroom a few minutes late and was queried by him as to why I was late. My response was something like I don't know and a shrug of...

I have often thought about Mr. Armenti and how he concealed the love for his students... his influence on me has been so profound... his class was much more than memorizing facts and details. He taught me to 'really think' for myself, to use reason and logic, to separate opinion from fact... to make the best decisions possible based on the information available. His positive influence and 'life skills' will live on through me and his other students and our families... what a wonderful legend.
