Not sure what to say?

I always remembered him from Career Orientation class my freshman year at Doyle in Fall 1986. No nonsense and a heck of a teacher. He will be missed.

Dear Atchley Family, I am saddened by the news of Jim's passing. I taught with Jim my first 7 years of teaching. He was the head of our Vocational Department, a good man, and a great leader. He was always positive, helpful, and kind to me,my fellow teachers and students. He was loved and respected by so many. I really enjoyed being around him. Sorry to hear of Mr. Atchley's passing away. He taught me Sunday school at Knoxville Baptist when I was a child and was a very kind man.

The Atchley family will always hold a dear and special place in my heart. My thoughts are with you all.

I will always remember Mr. Atchley when I attended the Knoxville Baptist Tabernacle as a young boy. His smile was refreshing and uplifting. May God bless you in this time of sorrow.

Mr.Atchley was a great teacher he was always there for the kids whether they had him for a teacher or not. I truly am sorry for the loss of this man in your lives and for the kids who would have benefited from his teaching. Carrie Ricker Hickman class of "93"

I was so very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I had the great pleasure of teaching with him for many years. He was always so very kind with never a bad word to say about anyone. I will cherish our department meetings, trips to Biltmore with our students, and his stops by my classroom for a chat. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers with the loss of such a wonderful man! GOD BLESS YOU!

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. Take comfort in knowing he is Home and you will meet again someday! God Bless you and bring you peace!
