Not sure what to say?

I love you Boompa- I think of you everyday and smile

Mrs."Neecie" and family,
I was privileged to get to know Dr.A. as he came in weekly for treatment. He spoke often of you, of his family, his war experiences, Woman's Hospital, carpentry - my but he was an interesting fellow. We often talked about medical things, but he was just a likely to share a recent joke he'd heard or a funny experience he'd had with a patient. He was a great man, and though I know we will all miss him, I know, too, he will live on in our memories.
Please know...

My dear cousins Walter, Bill and Katie, You each had the joy of growing up with three wonderful extraordinary treasures surrounding you...your wonderful parents Jim and Janice and your gentle rock of Gibraltar grandmother Katie Mae. I know that during this sad time you will recall many of those terrific memories and replay them time and time again just as I treasure the memories of your family's visit to Tuscaloosa and the many evenings with Katie Mae around our kitchen table. Jim was an...

Dear Niecie, Katie, Walter, Bill, and all of the Atkinson family. Laurie and I were so very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Having just gone through this with Laurie's dad, we know how hard this time is for you all. We will never forget what a wonderful man Jim was, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who's life he touched. Love to all, Wayne and Laurie

Aunt Janice, Walter, Bill ,and Katie, what wonderful memories I have of our childhood visiting Baton Rouge with Grandmother. Remembering the smell of Uncle Jim's pipe smoke when he came home from the office. Little loving things he did to show us that he cared very much. Time marches on does'nt it? But so many happy memories live on for all of us. You all have my special love, thoughts, and prayers for peace in your heart. Love, Carol Johnson

Not a goodbye, Boompa, but a promise to see you again in another place. You are always in my heart in everything that I do, say, think and feel. Please continue to guide me and bless me with your wisdom as you always have. I love you and am so proud to call you my grandfather.

Mrs. Atkinson, Walter and all the family.
My prayers are truly with you at this time. Dr. A was my Dr. while he practiced medicine along with Dr. Bowman. After many years I found myself as the dental patient of Dr. W. Atkinson, and still am.
I was troubled with infertility and finally had a hyst. when I was 23. He was right there with me every step of the way, with encouragement, wisdom, and concern. I always knew he really had my health first. I think back many times how hard that was...

Caro-
I'm so sorry to hear of Boompa's passing. I know from the stories I've heard you tell that he was a great patriot, physician, woman's advocate, carpenter and grandfather. I am so sorry that I was unable to meet him. God doesn't give us many definites in life except to know that great people go before us and it's up to us to keep their legacy going. You and your family are in my prayers.

We are sincerely and deeply saddened to hear about the death of Dr. Jim. He was such an inspiration to all. Bill had a great time being his "captain" in their expedition through the locks of the Alabama River. Our prayers, sympathy and love go out to "Niecie" and the family. Although his light goes out in this world, it is shining brightly in the Heavens.
Love,
Bill and Linda Hammell
