Not sure what to say?

Dr. Ator will always hold a special place in my heart. He had the most kind soul ever. He was so patient and made everyone he worked with feel and see their own worth and easily brought out the best in everyone. I´ve missed him dearly since high school and am so sad to see this, but am also happy that he is at peace now.

I will always remember( what was IPFW) and ways Dr. Ator , as a quiet, strong force in the development of the music Department there, helped to make it what it became. He was always kind and patient and will always be remembeered as a person who accomplished what God put him on earth to do. I am proud to have known him-a very gentle soul!

Fort Wayne, church, organ, handbells, visit in GERA, several returns, 2008 in your house, saxophone, chared ideas - a special friendship. Not very intensive in conversation but honest and stabile in heart. So rest in God´s love and peace, Jim. And you, Irene, be surrounded by the memories of love and friendship from all of them you met on your way. I´m a lucky one. With respect and love Burghardt

Irene I am sorry to hear about Jim's passing. His classes at IPFW will always be a big part of my memory and his humor will be greatly missed!

Hi Mrs. Ator, I am so sorry for your loss. I often think back onto the music of FWCC and music played on saxophone with your husband. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family during this time. My deepest condolences, Lisa

I have many fond memories of working with Jim. He was funny, sometimes a little ornery maybe, and always kind. It was a pleasure to know him. This world will not be the same without him, but heaven has certainly gained a wonderful man. Prayers for peace for Irene and family.

Just so very sorry. Mr. Ator was such a gentleman and loved by so many. The family has so many great memories! Prayers for his family.

Dr. Ator was a gifted Musician. Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne, was truly fortunate and blessed to have him, as a faculty member.
