Not sure what to say?

He was my doctor as a child, most people with osteogenis imperfecta don't ever make it to adulthood but because of him I did and went on to have my own family, I'm almost 60 now and I will never forget his kindness.

Dr. Averett had a reputation as a very fine doctor. My husband Wes and I knew him through our neighborhood and the community. His life made the world a better place for us.
Sincerely,
Terry Vawter

I worked in the Operating Room at Piedmont with Dr. Averett for many years. I had the opportunity to see him recently and am grateful that I had the chance to remind him of a Saturday spent in OR 9. We had a young man whose femur was shattered into many small pieces. Dear family of Bud Averett,
Bud and I were ATO Fraternity Brothers at Emory Univ. and worked together one summer at Camp Cherokee on Lake Burton. Since then, I have only had a few times to see Bud even though we, too, are members of Peachtree Presbyterian. I want to extend my sympathy to you and to say how much I thought of Bud and feel blessed to have known him.
Sincerely,
Revis Butler, Jr.

Dearest Angela, Brian, Jim, Daniel, Claire and Catherine -

We are sending lots of blessings and prayers your way. We love you and miss being with you during this challenging time.

Much Love! - Bonnie, Bruce, Ziggy and Claire

To The Averett Family:
I worked as a young orthopaedic surgeon at Piedmont Hospital in the 1990's. Your father was a pioneer in foot and ankle surgery, long before it was trendy or political. He always had a moment for a kind word of encouragement or to give a professional opinion if requested. May you find comfort in his many accomplishments during a life well lived!

To Angela and Jim:
Jan and I offer both of you our sincere condolences on the death of our dear friend and "Orthopedic Buddy" We have many wonderful memories of Bud and Sylvia which will enrich our lives as the two of them didi while alive. Wonderful friends and wonderful people!
The Georgia Orthopedic Society will always be in his debt for his great service and leadership!
William C Collins MD (Bill and Jan)

Your Father was a great friend and physician to our family. I worked with him for many years in the Piedmont Hospital Operating Room. I know you will miss him. Grace and peace to you and your family.

To The Averett Family:
My sincere and heartfelt sympathy to each of you in your time of grief. Dr. Averett was a friend and colleague in Orthopaedics here at Piedmont Hospital. He will certainly be missed. May God bless you in the coming days.
