James B. "Country Plumber" Kilzer Jr., 84, of Newbern, died Thursday, May 6, 2010 at his residence. He was a country plumber, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Mount Tirzah Baptist Church. Services will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern. The family will receive visitors at 5:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Kilzer of Newbern; three daughters, Gail Lee of Cordova, Elisa Mathis of Newbern and Nan Singleton of Harlingen, Texas; a son, Danny Kilzer of Newbern; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sons, Jeffery Kilzer, Cal Kilzer and Benny "B.J." Kilzer; his parents, Pearl Lytle Kilzer and James B. Kilzer Sr.; a sister, Dorothy Ripley; and a brother, Robert Kilzer. Pallbearers will be Timothy Aaron Jones, Dustin Wayne Jenner, Aaron Evans, Chris Sanders, Willie Cole and James Singleton
