James Bagby Obituary


Family-Placed Death Notice

BAGBY, James Mr. James F. Bagby, age 79 of McDonough passed away May 12, 2008 at the Henry Medical Center. He was born in Hawkinsville, GA to the late James Howard and Eva Kate Brownlee Bagby. He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Kate Bagby. Mr. Bagby served his country in the United States Navy from 1946 - 1948; and in the United States Coast Guard from 1948 - 1965. He was a member of the McDonough First United Methodist Church. He was an avid reader who enjoyed fly tying, hunting, and gardening. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Louise Bagby of McDonough; children, Karen (Bruce) Dietrich of Tallahassee, FL, Pamela Bagby of Cuthbert, John (Pepper) Bagby of Locust Grove, Lora Bagby of McDonough; grandchildren, Drew and Kurt Dietrich, Amanda, Devin, and Jonathan Bagby; sisters, Sarah Gainey of Tallahassee, FL, Henrietta Lucas of Aiken, SC; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Rev. Dana Everhart will officiate. Interment will follow at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Friends may visit the family Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America Troop 62, c/o Gene Morris, 228 Shorewood Court, McDonough, GA 30252 in memory of Mr. Bagby.
