Not sure what to say?

I met Jim when I was 9 years old, with my parents, at the Miami Skyways on one of my dad's layovers. Jim was a DC-6B Engineer and taught me several dives at the pool. I consulted him years later when he was the DAL Chief Pilot (BOS). He was a friend and a pleasure to know as I saw him frequently flying little airplanes around New England.

To the Baker Family

I met Jim when I first moved to NH from Los Angeles, at the Lawrence Airport in 2008. I have always had a fascination with the early days of the airline industry and read many books on the glory days of the Airline business. When I met Jim I was struck immediately with his connection to the best of times in the Airline Business. He was full of history, rich in details I so much loved. Having spent all of my life in Corporate America I also saw in Jim a true and...

Jim was such a professional pilot and a real gentleman. I knew him during my career until he retired. He was kind to everyone. My thoughts and prayers to his family. Nan Howes , Flight Attendant Northeast and Delta , 1966-2005. Winthrop Ma.

I first met Jim at Lawrence Airport while he was Chief Pilot with King Air Charters. My memories of him are of a person who loved aviation and, more importantly, loved the people around him.
I'll always remember him as a good man.
Please accept my condolences for your loss.

Jim and I met on Dec 18, 1957 for our first day with Northeast Airlines. What an exciting day it was, dream position last. Jim and I had parallel lives ( I was senior to him) except I only flew the line. We went through all the good times and the worst. I was in the line on his last flight and he remarked to me "So nice to see you here David" My sympathy, as he was a good man.

Dear Bakers. I grew up in Boxford and went through 12 grades with Scott. I contacted Jim when it was time for me to leave the Air Force and he guided me through the hiring process at Delta; he was my first chief pilot when I was assigned to the Boston base. My thoughts are with your family.

To The Baker Familly,
While we are mourning the loss of our friend, others are rejoicing to meet him.
May the memories held deep within your heart, help to soothe you.

Dear Debbie and Jamie,
What a kind and caring man Jim was to all. I'll always remember his love and pride when he spoke of each of you. Never wanting to to parted from you he fought with such determination to get well. He must be overwhelmed with the love Jesus and the angels are greeting him now! Although he rests so peacefully in our Father's loving arms, we his family, friends and neighbors will so miss him.
