James Barker Obituary
L.T.C. (Retired) James Martin Barker died Saturday, March 1, 2014.
Jim was born October 20, 1929 in Miami, FL to James Thomas (J.T.) and Josephine Francis Barker. Upon graduation from the University of Florida, he joined the U.S. Army where he served for 28 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years (Yvonne Penn Barker). He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Chapin (and husband Ross), granddaughter, Alexandra, grandson Brett and brother, William R. Barker.
Jim's family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, March 6th, at Culley's Funeral Home, Riggins Rd. Chapel (850-877-8191). The burial will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on Friday, March 7th. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to: Raintree Village Children's Home, 3757 Johnston Rd, Valdosta, GA 31601 or to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 (www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate).

What a great great friend Jim was. Always enjoyed our Tallahassee visits with him the past few years.
We were lucky to have both he and Yvonne as our good friends.

Jim was a wonderful and caring man. His wife, Yvonne, was my cousin and a very important part of my life. Jim moved into that position, also. I love them both very much!
