Not sure what to say?

He truly was "one of a kind." Jim actually changed my life in big ways. I was living in New Orleans and my life was a mess.
Dr. Barnes helped me get a teaching job at Upper Arlington High School. Moving to Columbus was a great experience and I am thankful to him and Jenni. My memories of him actually start when Jenni and I were at Miami University. Then, when I got my teaching job, Jenni and I were roommates. He was a great guy and helped me medically as well. Rest peacefully Dr. B.

Jim was a force almost larger than life. Humorous. Interesting. Intellectual. Robust. My deepest sympathies to Jan. Jim made the lives of those he knew more engaged and entertained. Rest well. Bob Shaw.

Jane and family,

So sad to learn of your loss. Jim was a wonderful colleague and friend.
My thoughts are with you.

There will only be one James Barnes. He is a unique man who will live in our hearts forever. I will always remember the dinner parties, the anniversary parties, the birthday parties, and making rain angels. The Halloween parties and lunch at Lindeys.
Jimmy Barnes I will miss you and I hope to continue lunches at Lindeys with Jan.
I raise a glass to you and the life you lived.
Love you
Machelle

Condolences to the families! Always so kind to me throughout the years. Peace and blessings!

Dear Jan and family,
I had the privilege of working with Jim for many years in the OR and remember so fondly his many witticisms. Listening to jazz around town, running into you and Jim at the airport, receiving the annual card with your beloved pets drawn so beautifully. Parties at your home were legendary and interesting people flocked to be in your company. His memory lives on with a smile. Thanks for sharing an extraordinary life!

Jan and Jim, favorites of ours for their Bloodies and Bagels on Tour Day. Dr. Barnes was a very avant- garde and a superb neurosurgeon. He will be missed. Peace and love, Jan

Jim was simply fantastic. His love for life was obvious as was his deep love for Janice. He will be missed but he will not be forgotten.

Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.
