Not sure what to say?

You will always be remembered Jim. Our last contact with you was at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Philly and our wives and us enjoyed a nice lunch. Outside we shared a strong lengthy embrace and said goodbye. You still live on in my heart and mind and I'll see you again in due time...O'B

I'll never let go of the memories of our friendship that developed through our time in the Marine Corps and then in civilian life. Rest in eternal peace, my brother.

Is Life Just a Dash?

As I walk through a cemetery I see all the headstones and have many questions. They have the name of the person buried there and the dates of their life. Between those two dates is a DASH as in 1948 - 1993. What does that DASH stand for? How did they spend those years? Were they the best they could have been? Were they rich or poor? Did they enjoy life? Were they loved by others? How long or short was that DASH to them? Does that DASH mean anything good or bad?...

Ahhh....the Silver Fox has gone on to Glory. God Bless you Jim, and may The Lord console and care for your family.

I'll never forget that get together of The Few Com bunch down in Dallas, years back now. You showed up with that long silver pony tail of hair, flowing back out of that Marine Corps Utiliity hat that you wore. We will miss Jim's positive attitude and that MILLION DOLLAR smile.
We feel SO fortunate to have had Jim Barton in our lives & memories.
God Speed.

Jim was a wonderful friend and co-worker. He always had a smile on his face and something nice to say. Jim will be missed by many. My most sincere condolences to his family.

Jim was a great man and a great friend. In the fourteen years I was honored to know him, I never once saw him without a smile, even after the bad news.

Jim was a gentleman’s gentleman, a man of integrity and a devoted and loving husband and father. On our many bike rides together, with or without Nancy, she and the kids were often the topics of conversation. Our group dinners following bicycle rides were memorable experiences where everyone was family and nobody was a...

I lost a friend I've never met last week. There are no real social protocols yet for online friendships. How do you respond when someone you only know online dies? This post is my response. It is all I have, and essentially it is an online response, so perhaps it will be fitting.

Years ago, back in the days of 28.8 modems and Windows 3.1, I first connected to what was then called the World Wide Web. We didn't know how big this thing was going to get, and there wasn't much commercial...

God has received a great one to spread his smile in heaven. May God bless the family during this time. Jim touched many people.
