My condolences to the family and closest friends of Jim- a good man who could always turn a not so good day into a good one! I worked with him at Amtrak and enjoyed the trips we worked together.

About 11 years ago I was walking my dog down the road when I saw this big dark haired guy trying to get his steel dock in the water by himself. I told him if he would wait a few minutes, I would get a pair of waders and a 6 pry bar and give him a hand. A few minutes later I returned. As we wrangled that dock where he wanted we talked and joked. He also was a perfectionist. We became good friends. Good friends are very hard to come by. Jim was one of those few. Jim was always willing to lend me any tools and "advice " on how to use them, along with a drink!!! Going to miss this especially the razzing that went along with the adult beverage
