What a great man. Like a second father to me. My parents traveled so much when I was young. I was blessed to be able to stay with the Bates. Thank you Mr. Bates, for being such a great friend and mentor. My heart goes out to my good friends, Jim, Tony and Greg. I'm sorry I can not be there today to celebrate in his life. Love to all.

Connie and I were so sorry to hear that Jim has passed away. We remember him from the days before he left the Bay Area to come to Santa Rosa in hopes of a new a career, and was ultimately successful as a businessman in the North Bay area. We will miss his smile and his always ready assistance whenever we needed help or advice. Our condolences to the family.
