James Chesley "Chet" Beale Jr.

BEALE, James Chesley "Chet" Jr., 91, died December 30, 2008, at his residence. He was born in Franklin, a son of the late James Chesley and Alice Lewis Beale. Mr. Beale was also predeceased by a sister, Alice Beale Prange; three brothers, Robert I. Beale, Cyrus Lewis Beale and Warren Steele Beale; and a nephew, Warren Steele Beale Jr. He was a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church, served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific, and was a 1938 graduate of Washington and Lee University. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Perkinson Beale; two daughters, Mary Alice Beale and Dorothy Beale Panissidi and husband, Kenneth; one son, James Chesley Beale III, all of Franklin; one sister, Nancy B. Guin of Shreveport, La.; three grandchildren, Chelsea and Christen Panissidi and Adam Tyler; a sister-in-law, Sibyl P. Beale of Franklin; an exchange student, Ayumi Miyamori. The funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, with Rev. James H. Hyatt officiating. Interment will follow at Poplar Spring Cemetery. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
