Not sure what to say?

Jim was a quiet, humble person who kept his feelings very private. He was patient & made it a point to let me the door was open for me. I am sorry I missed these last few years & heartbroken he has moved on. I will always treasure our relationship, think of him often and miss him dearly. With love to you Jim, rip.

Took three years of math classes with Mr. Beattie and other than Mr. Sphur, he was a
teacher I saw almost every year of my high school career. Both of those teachers helped guide me through a tough senior year, academically and emotionally. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to have him as a mentor..

My condolences to his family. He was a great teacher and always willing to go the extra mile for those who needed extra help in math or anything for that matter. He will be remembered fondly by many I am sure.

Jim was a mentor and good friend to me at Ichabod Crane. He was always really helpful and supportive of me when I was a newbie teacher. He had a great sense of humor, despite his quiet demeanor and I enjoyed all his tips and quips. I will really miss him. I wish all of his family and friends some comfort during this sad time. He was a great person.

I was a student of Mr Beattie in 1980-82. I appreciate what he taught me in class, but it was other areas - Math League, sports, and his general heartfelt concern for us kids that really had a lasting impact on my development. There are nuggets from those days that are still with me today, and for that I am grateful to have been a pupil of his and to have known him.
