I would like to express my sympathies to the Bender family. I pray God surrounds you with his love and holds you in his strong arms as you mourn.
I always enjoyed our professional friendship and conversations whenever he came to Saint Mary's to perform surgery. He was a kind man and always had a smile.

Dr. James R. Bender "Jim", was a great source of inspiration and leadership to many in the podiatric profession. I was honored to know him and work with him for many years. He was instrumental in spreading his knowledge and wisdom in foot and ankle surgery to foot surgeons all over the world. As hard as I try I will not be able to forget that look he would give that said "let's get it done!" God bless Jim and his family. He will not be forgotten.
