Just being around Jim meant good times. Not only was he a great Marine, but an awesome person. He was part of everything fun for me at I & I Bessemer from the Marine things to Flag football and pitching horse shoes in my backyard. May God bless you Jimmy Bent. You'll be sorely missed!!

I served about a year and a half with SSgt James Edward Bent IV. He a true inspiration to me because he not only was an outstanding Marine, but he was also a role model. He was confident in everything he did and gave extra effort in whatever he was tasked to complete. If there was anything he needed from me I made sure that he received it in a timely manner. I did that just because unlike some of the Marines at our unit, he was one of those who took care of you and kept his word on everything...

Jimmy had such a wonderful smile and he had the most contagious laugh. I am not sure how I can continue without "the small things". Jimmy was my best friend and my husband. It is very difficult to lose both at the same time.
