My condolences to your family.

Mr. Blackwood advised this was his first teaching assignment which was sixth grade at Randall School; I was a student in that class. He invited the entire class to his wedding and I did attend. Many of my teachers I don't recall, but always remembered Mr. Blackwood. He was a great teacher and person.

To the family: Please accept my condolences. I knew Jim as a fellow principal, albeit at the high school. I admired him very much and appreciated his insights and his non ending commitment to students. He had a capacity to cut through the verbiage and focus on the mission.

It was a privilege to serve with Jim in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. We have wonderful memories working with Jim, teaching Boating Safety to the public and doing Search and Rescue with the Coast Guard. Jim was always so generous with his time and knowledge and we learned so much from him. We enjoyed fellowship with Jim and Ruth Ann at Change of Watch functions and dinners at the Milwaukee Yacht Club and the South Shore Yacht Club. Jim's handiwork with woodworking will always be remembered. ...
