Not sure what to say?

James personified the officials official. Having devoted much of his life to the challenging field of arbitration, he was a gentlleman and a true professional that brought a deep respect and solid perspective to the art of officiating. Most of all I was proud to call Jim a friend and always enjoyed his sense of humility and sincere dedication to the art of officiating. Peace be with you Jim

I worked with Jim when he worked at the City of Dallas. I got to know him better in 1984 when I was fortunate enough to get in two evening accounting classes that he taught at El Centro Community College, Dallas. He was an excellent teacher, always fair, easy to understand, eager to share his knowledge & made accounting easy. THANK YOU JIM! Heartfelt condolences to his family. May He rest in God's Holy Peace.

Jim Blackwood (JB); a wonderful man. His subtle humor and warmth always made him so approachable. His presence was highly sought-after by everyone at camps, clinics, and academies. He was always willing to share his knowledge and wisdom with anyone. Descanse en paz, JB.

Jim was a brilliant...

It was my privilege to know Jim for many years. He was a good man and will be missed by everyone that knew him. Condolences to the family and rest in peace Jim. Robert Horton

Jim was a dear friend. As many others have said, I would be nothing in the world of college football were it not for his mentoring and influence. I will truly miss our weekly calls - just checking up on one another.

Rest in peace my dear Friend. May God bless his family in this time of sorrow.

Jim was a friend, a boss, a leader and a compassionate person who worried about everyone. I enjoyed our talks, our meetings and his ability to listen to everyone’s thoughts. Jim’s videos were not only constructive but a total piece of art. He will be missed by me and so many others. God Bless Jim Blackwood.
