BLASDELL, James Richard “Jim”  - Age 71, passed away at his residence on Sunday, December 17, 2017. 


A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly in honor of his life and service in the military. 


He was born on January 13, 1946 in Flint and was a lifelong resident there. 


He graduated from St. Michael’s Catholic School, graduating in 1964 and a few years later enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. 


His military service provided a valuable experience and he frequently shared these memories with family and friends. 


Mr. Blasdell was employed by General Motors, starting at Buick Motor Division, then transferring to Chevy Truck & Bus from which he retired. 


He loved traveling and being outdoors. 


In his younger years, he particularly enjoyed swimming, boating, fishing, skiing, horseback riding and thrill rides. 


He was also a sports car enthusiast.


James will be greatly missed by sister, Mary Ann and spouse, Gary Goodrich of Florida; sister, Jeanne and spouse David Cheadle of Florida; nephew, Jason Goodrich; 


niece, Gina Cheadle and girlfriend, Janet Buetow.


A special thanks to neighbors, Ed and Terry Hill and family for their help and support.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Anne Blasdell.

Jim loved life and enjoyed fishing, swimming, boating, quad riding, snow skiing and travel. Jim had a unforgettable smile and had a humorous side to him. We had many laughs and good times. Jim was very generous to others, especially his nephew Jason Goodrich and niece Gina Cheadle.

God Bless you Jim! You will always be in our thoughts and prayers!
