Jim added a huge boost of morale and motivation to his teammates and friends. He'll be missed but his spirit will always be with us.

Dear La Vonna and Jim and Patrick,
I was so saddened to learn of your loss. Jim was so gifted and unassuming and he left us way too soon. La Vonna, I have fond memories of the hours we spent on the phone regarding swimming, coaches etc etc. Jim was a spectacular swimmer and I know brought such pride and delight to you. We won't forget. Know you are in my prayers and thoughts.

It is always sad to hear that someone you grew up with has died. Jim still has an impact and is used as a swimming example with the kids that I coach. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I am so sorry to read of Jim's passing. I remember Jim from the age group swim meets in San Diego County. My sympathy and thoughts are with your family.

I knew Jim best when he was ten to fourteen, and already he was such a kick and full of life. I enjoyed his antics, even if his coaches didn't. He brought a lot of fun to some pretty grueling workouts. Fond memories, Jim. You were one of a kind. xoxo
