Not sure what to say?

Winter,
I am so sorry for your loss.

MY FONDEST MEMORIES OF JIM WERE BACK DURING THE CONSTRUCTION OF CHERRY HILL CONDOMINIUMS. I WAS GEORGE PREAS CAREGIVER AND ONE OF THE BIGGEST HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY WAS FOR GEORGE AND I TO WATCH THE CONSTRUCTION OF CHERRY HILL. WE WATCHED IT FROM THE FIRST TO THE LAST BRICK. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, JIM WOULD COME OUT TO THE JEEP WITH ONE OF HIS GOLDENS AND TALK TO GEORGE AND I.
JIM WAS A VERY SWEET MAN AND HAD A GREAT PERSONALITY AND A HEART OF GOLD. HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY MANY.

I wish I could find the words to say what you wrote Winter in your tribute to Jim:
He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,

I wish I could find the words to say what my son Ernie wrote in his tribute to Jim:
What do you do when all of your heroes are gone?

I wish I could find the eloquent words to express my gratitude but all I can say is:
“Thank You Jim” for being like a father to Ernie & Stacie. You lifted...

Jim was more than an uncle to me and my brothers, Jake and Tristan. All our talks about Virginia Tech, Pawleys Island, and of course; the smiles and laughes. Uncle Jim you will never be forgotten, and you will always be missed.

Philip, Winter, Nancy, Trina, and family, My heart goes out to you in your loss. Jim was a dreamer who stood out from many of the rest of us in that he acted on those dreams and made so many of them come to reality. He was energized by his friends and family, a good project, or a good laugh. So many great memories: "Lord Botetourt vs. Lord Starkey" football,Windy Gap Village, the Back Creek "Chapel", The Library, Regency Towers, Second St. condos, Woodsmoke.
Big life, Jim, but you...

I worked for Jim at OAB as a secretary. He was the best boss I ever had. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Jane Lower, Gainesville, GA

With deepest sympathy to Trina and family. Keeping you in prayers and wishing you comfort.

We first met Jim when he came to Roanoke back in the late 1950's. He was a great guy then and reading of his many life accomplishments shows that he carried this greatest all through his life. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and many close friends.

Roanoke will miss Jim a lot- he had vision and the drive to make things happen-
