Jim Bogan, beloved father and grandfather and local businessman, passed away Oct. 20, 2010, after a long illness. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, with subsequent interment in Grand Saline, Texas. Jim was the son of James M. and Leta C. Bogan of Grand Saline, Texas. He graduated from Grand Saline High School, Tyler Junior College, and Southern Methodist University. Jim was a CPA with Price Waterhouse for many years and a Vice President with Tandy Corporation/Radio Shack in the 1970's. After moving to Waco in 1978, he was a business owner, first of Island Plastics, then of ICS Jail Supplies. Jim was a loving, caring, and generous father to his two sons and six grandchildren. His grandchildren were the apples of his eye. He loved to spend time with them and was an enduring presence in their lives. Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Connie Bogan of Keller, Texas; two sons and their wives, Cary and Jane Bogan and Wyatt and Karem Bogan, all of Waco; seven grandchildren, Nathaniel and Laura Bogan of Charlottesville, Va., and Jennifer, Joshua, Ellen and Katherine Bogan, all of Waco. The family would like to express their sincere thanks for the loving care he received at Wesley Woods and from Providence Hospice Care in the last months of his life. Not sure what to say?

Cousin Jimmy and I were about the same age, he was a year younger. My first recollection of him would be in San Bernadino, California where he and his brother Phil and mother Leta were living with our Grandmother Emma Bogan Brogdan (she remarried). Our mother had transported Peggy and me there for a visit possibly in 1945. She had a very large house and in addition to Jimmy's family I remember Richard Pike, and his mother Mary, as well as Aunt Bess and Bobby and Kathryn. Seems like Aunt Mary...

Cary and all the family, we think of you during this time of loss and sadness, and send our condolences. - Fred and Libby Chaney

Mr. Bogan was a warm and consistent supporter on the sidelines of our soccer team for many years. His sponsorship paled in comparison to his sweet, consistent presence on the sidelines and at all the parties. He is appreciated and will be missed by many!

I met Jim through his cousin, Jeanne Hicks-Little. He was a gentle, caring man who loved his family. I am so sorry for the loss of this sweet person.

My condolences to Jim's family and friends.

With Love from a very distant cousin,

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
