I met Jim at Ohio State and we were roommates our junior year. We took a memorable trip to the 1980 Rose Bowl. Jim would typically underpromise and greatly over deliver in his coursework. We would have a daily battle to get the Sports section out of the paper first. We played many aggressive games of backgammon and early handheld football and basketball games.
