Bowen, 88, of Hoffman Estates; beloved husband of the late Gloria, nee Shipp, for 62 years; loving father of Carol (Tom) English, Judy Bowen, Ken (Jody) and Tom; dear grandfather of Diana (Jerry) Van Hauter, Kim (Rafael) Cruz, Brian English, Ami (Jason) Humphries, Beth (Richard) Vedvik, Scott (Alma) Bowen, Jon Bowen, Kristina (Jorge) Cano and Tim Bowen; proud great-grandfather of 12; brother of the late Evelyn Metcalf. He served on the Coast Guard U.S.S. Cavalier. Memorial visitation at Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 330 W. Golf Rd., Schaumburg from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday. Memorial Service 1 p.m., Saturday at Our Saviour's United Methodist Church, 701 E. Schaumburg Rd., Schaumburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be appreciated for the church. I grew up in Hoffman and lived across the street from Mr. and Mrs. Bowen. I have many precious memories of them and their family as neighbors.

To The Bowen Family,
I had the honor of meeting Grandpa Bowen just last year and enjoyed every minute of conversation we shared. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Wish I could there.
