Not sure what to say?

I saw the notice of Jim's passing in the Brown Alumni Magazine. I was one of his students in Lima, Peru and he was the person who recommended that I apply to Brown, which I did and was accepted. He was my teacher for only a very short time, but he had a profound impact on me, awakening me to literature which I had not known as I lived abroad and public libraries were not available. I had not realized he was living in Providence. My wife and I spend 5 months a year in Middletown RI, and I...

Dear Kathleen and Family,
We are so sorry to hear that Jim passed. Bill and I had the
pleasure of playing in a golf tournament with him the summer of 2017, and waving hi to him on the golf and tennis courts throughout the summers in Castine. He was such a gentleman, and nice guy.
We will miss him.

So sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was a wonderful teacher and gave of himself so generously at San Miguel School. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Kathleen and Jim's family,

Please accept my sincere condolences.
I had opportunities to be in many classes that Jim led at Hamilton House and admired his enthusiastic presentation and discussions.

I am out of town and will not be able to attend the service tomorrow at Manning Chapel.

With Warm and Healing thoughts,

Pat Feinstein

This is such sad news. Jim was such a nice, nice man with a wonderful soul. He did so much for the young men at San Miguel School, and he was good and kind towards everyone he met. I will keep Kathleen and all his loved ones in my prayers.

I arrived at Bronxville Highschool in my junior year knowing absolutely no one.....Jim went out of his way to make me welcome and I will always be grateful for his kindness....Kit Hemion

We will miss him most as our "Brown Basketball watching Buddy"
on cold winter nights in the gym! Only knew him as super friendly and a "fan of the game" with always a smile and great effort to catch a T-Shirt thrown his way. We will miss his humor, his dedication to Elizabeth and wish we had met him well before he started sitting behind us at Brown!
Our loss is that we should have met him far earlier-
BUT he was surely loved by many we are sure-

Linda and Bill Jenkins,...
