Not sure what to say?

As a child, "Cousin Jimmy" was one of the beacons in my life. I just felt great being in his presence. He checked on me more than a few times during my U. S. Air Force career.

Dr. Bowman was a humble, kind and caring man. We miss him greatly!

Please accept our deepest condolence. Arthur Harness (oldest son of Alice Bowman Harness) & Family

Dr. Lane, Rev. Bowman and family,
I was sorry to read of the passing of James Bowman. My mother was a former neighbor of his in 3663, so I had heard her speak of him. As she is also a veteran, they had spent time together in veterans activities in Iowa. He was so kind to have driven her to see one of the Tuskeegee planes. When I told her there was a large article about him in the PPG, she said "Of course, he deserved it! He was a great man." May God bless your family.

To the Family of Dr. Bowman, our thoughts and prayers are with you during the home going of Dr. Bowman. We were blessed to have him in our lives. May God wrap His loving arms around you all.

Dear Linda and family,
I am so sorry about the passing of your father. He will be missed, but we always remember God is our refuge and strength. We will keep your family in our prayers.

Dear Linda and Coleman, The Geddens of 36th Street were sad to read of your dad's passing. Although we have also moved on, you all are always be part of our cherished memories of that wonderful neighborhood.

Gail, Linda, and to all your family,
I was very saddened to hear of your father's passing. There are no words of comfort that I can write that will ease your pain at this time. But, I want you to know that your father helped to shape the person I am today. I still have a vivid picture of him sitting in our living room with my parents laughing over a story one of them told. To me he will always be Mr. Bowman, the man that always had a kind word for his daughter's friend. May your...

Mr. Bowman was my homeroom teacher at Nathan weeks Jr High. As a scared little 7th grader he helped me make the adjustment to Jr High. He also ran the photography club I was in.I neverr saw Mr. Bowman again but followed his life from his work with the Schools.
My grandfather (Harold Voitel) worked with his dad back in the days of the State liquor stores. He always spoke well of him. I thank God for putting Mr. Bowman in my life.
