Not sure what to say?

As many others, I was mortally shocked to hear of Jim's sudden passing. He helped me get my footing in academia, always willing to debate a topic, but only after patiently listening to others' "core dumps". He patiently helped guide students in my lab, and selflessly contributed his time on an individual basis and in classes. He thoroughly analyzed many aspects of a problem we were working on, whether in research, administration (especially admissions!), and even selecting the color of his...

An absolutely lovely man, always a smile and a kind word to this hesitant student. The world can always do with more people like Jim, he was an absolute gent. I was so sorry to hear of his passing, my condolences to those he left behind. May Jim Rest in Peace.

Dr. Bowsher was an energetic, patient, caring advisor, who worked like crazy and dedicated a lot to our DKU medical physics graduate program. We deeply appreciate his contribution and will forever miss him in our hearts. I remember his kindness, humor, warm heart and really enjoyed the time working with him on my thesis. Last time I met Bowsher was during the labor holiday 2021. We exchanged little gifts, and he showed me the new facilities in the teaching hall. We walked around the campus,...

Jim has been a role model to me at work in the university. He is meticulous, thoughtful, and hard-working. Your colleagues will greatly miss you.

Jim, you embodied the true ideal of a 'gentleman scholar' for me, and I greatly enjoyed working together on many things from scientific projects to all matters DKU. Always appreciated your unfailing kindness and good heartedness. Thank-you !

We only knew Jim as Chief, and it was a nick name that gave him the respect he earned as a true friend, calm force of reason and deep thinker. I will always remember long intense discussions about random things like wellness and health where we were debating if one could actually wish yourself to wellness. Chief always had the next question to deepen the conversation and was a wise man who loved all his friends dearly. The lessons I learned from Chief about caring, questioning and careful...

Chief, you will be greatly missed. Lori and I will remember all our times together fondly.
