James A. "Jim" Braga Jim Braga was an extraordinary man. But then that should have come as no surprise to those who saw him fight his way back from polio as a young boy. That grit took him to the football fields of St. Vincent's and on to serve as a proud Marine. Not one to stop at just one...

Jimmy was our neighborhood icon and hero. Growing up on Walnut St. with him and all the rest of "the kids," really let me know the generous, kind, and fun-loving man he was to become. Nancy and family, my heart and prayers continue to go out to you. He is in God's loving arms as we all hope to be. Stephanie Pope Hanzlik

I was a Walnut St. neighbor since 7 years old. With Jimmy organizing the Gilmores, the Pope Girls, the Cellas, and Empeys, we had teams for hide n' seek, football... you name it. Jim was a fun-loving, funny, good guy that became an amazing husband, father, and legacy to "his town." He surely will be missed by so, so many. My sympathy and prayers to Nancy, her family and Jim's many friends. Stephanie Pope Hanzlik

Jimmy lived down the street from me as a kid, we played everyday, touch football, etc. His first car was a truck, and it was polished and kept clean ALL THE TIME. He was always a pleasure to be with, always with a positive attitude. I can still see him in his truck. I wish to extend my sincere sympathy at this time to his family. Asheville, NC
