My two sisters (Lynn and Joan Goodrich, at that time) and I all had History class with Mr. Bramwell. He was a calm influence on us in a rather wild historical era in our country. He was a great teacher, even though he lost the only copy of my senior term paper on Hiroshima. (Those were the days before copiers, believe it or not.) We need more influences like him today. I remember Jim with enormous respect and appreciation. At Air Academy he was in that cadre of history teachers we all revered for their scholarship and high expectations. When we opened Rampart, I was panicked about being assigned to teach British Lit, a subject for which I had insufficient historical background.
