Not sure what to say?

I served with Jim aboard the USS Piedmont from 1965 to 1967. He was a great officer who cared for his men and loved the Navy. He was extremely competent and was a mentor to me when I was a wet behind the ears Ensign. He had a super sense of humor and was well liked by all in the wardroom. Fair winds and following seas my old friend. Ken Bian, LT, USN(R)

To the Brashear Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Brashear's passing. I had prepared the Brashear's income tax return for the past 5 years. My lasting memory of Mr. Brashear is how much he loved his wife Patricia and entire family.

Jim,

I'd like to offer my condolences to what appears to be the loss of both of your parents. I hope they both rest in peace together now. What a love story! I remember when your Dad came in to the travel agency in which I was working many years ago. He was such a nice man, and sent you in to say hi a few days later. Take care, Susi (Mahy) Haugh

Pat, my folks just let us know about your father, and sent a copy of the notice. Our thoughts are with you and your family at this time.
Hugs to all,
Jim and Becky

Dear Brashear family,
Please accept my condolences on the occasion of Jim's passing. I served with Jim as the ship MD on the USS Dixie from 1972-1974. Jim acted as my mentor, allowing me to learn the proper Navy way. He was a compassionate and patient teacher and a most valued friend and colleague. He had a wry sense of humor and a dignity that commanded respect. Most significantly, he delighted in his family and was proud of their successes.
If there is anything I can do for...

Terry: I am so sorry about your loss. Sounds like your dad was a terrific person and most important a great dad. I hope peace comes to your family. Take care always.

THe Grand kids all called him Grandpa Chocolate

Dad and I.

We were truly lucky to have such a great man as a Father. Now when I wake up in the morning and look in the mirror and I see the striking resemblance,I can only hope to be half the man my Dad was and I hope I live my life to the fullest just like he did
