I have known James most of my life, having grown up on Otisco Lake. Most of the time I saw him he was running his backhoe on some project, and he was a magician with it. When he socialized, it was generally at the old Forrest Home or the Amber Inn, and that’s where I enjoyed his company. He was smart, knowledgeable, entertaining and awfully funny.
