James Kenneth Brewer

I have been wanting to write Dr. Brewer and when I finally had the time
to look him up, I was led to this link. My heart is broken. Dr. Brewer was an exceptional person and teacher. No one could teach stats like him. He was wise, straight forward, and honest about the true value of statistics. We both had intrusive health issues and commiserated over them which helped me be a more resilient person. I'll miss talking with my friend and neighbor as he spent time working in his woods over the past 30 years or so. He was a good man.

I sure no one else would have been able to teach statistics to me but Dr. Brewer. All of us who were fortunate to study with him owe him much.

To the Family of Dr. Brewer. My deepest sympathy to all of you. I loved Dr. Brewer dearly. He taught me so much about humor in the classroom. He was a maverick and an inspiration.
