I am sorry to hear the news of Jim's passing. He was an indomitable spirit who left me with many good memories of my early days at Leary. Jim hired me and set me on a life course through his persistent support and encouragement to try new things in the classroom. He had a great sense of humor. Jim brought fun to the mundane and the children loved his playful spirit. I remember them all cheering when he flew through the halls at Leary on his skates! Who could forget how he opened...

Bink was a person who seemed to love life and have a good time with family and friends

Jim Brown was my principal at Jarrettown Elementary School. One of my favorite memories - He came to school in his black mustang with the license plate, PRIN PAL, and his Flyers vanity plate. Two things he loved - his school and his Philadelphia Flyers! Without a doubt, I learned many leadership lessons from Jim that cannot come from a textbook.
