Not sure what to say?

I am... Very late to write here, but I was too nervous to. Jim was the best grandpa I could have ever wished for. I remember when I was six, all I wanted was a doll as big as me. No one could find what I was talking about. But lo and behold, one day when he was in down, he brought be a 4 foot tall rag doll, and it was perfect. I loved that doll so much. He was just... Such a different human in the best way possible. He was kind, funny, smart and whitty. Everytime he'd come and visit my family...

I was fresh out of law school in the fall of 1974 when Jim hired me as a deputy district attorney in Corvallis. He was my mentor and friend, a man of wisdom, kindness, and integrity. Thank you, Jim.

There are few people who combine the intelligence, wit, and compassion that Jim exhibited to everyone who came in contact with him. If there can be just one word to describe him, it is grace. The world is a colder place without him. There's a hole in the sky.

Even as a college student Jim clearly was above all of us in so many ways. I haven't had contact with Jim since college but he has been clearly etched in my mind all these years.

My deepest condolences to Lisa and the family, and an appreciation for a loving and full life well-lived. You will be in Dana's and my thoughts.

I loved Jim for his dry wit and unending kindness. Jim and Lisa provided a safe haven for me for awhile, felt like home. I´m thankful I got to know James Brown.

Jim was a terrific lawyer and a terrific person. He will be missed. Our sincere condolences to Lisa and to the rest of Jim´s family. Best wishes, Susan Graber & Bill June

I had the honor of working on a murder case with James Brown. I had a lot of respect for him and his abilities. Always a gentleman no matter how adverse the other party was. I considered him a friend as well as a colleague. Rest in Peace my friend. My condolences to your family. Bill Carroll
