Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Jim's death and my heart and prayers go to the family. Jim and I served together at the City of Merriam for many years and he was a great mentor, friend and leader.

A rush of memories pass through my mind. I remember those carefree summer visits enjoying all the fun and games we could make up - playing in the woods, in the hayloft, swimming - never a dull moment. The days went too fast. Also, after the night of the 1958 tornado in Ruskin Heights, Jay was at our door the next morning. Great memories of a great cousin.

Jay was one of the two cousins from Kansas City that spent summers on the farm with Aunt Katherine, my mother. My sympathy to his family and friends.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Jim was a great Law Enforcement officer and friend. We first met when we became members of the original Kansas City Metropolitan Major Case Squad. Worked with Jim while he was at JCCC then Merriam Police Department. I retired from Overland Park PD 1988 then became Director Public Safety here at JCCC. Our prayers were with you.

Rest in peace Jim. Many people thank you for your long dedicated hard work.Way back when we were in grade school at Askew you were always busy and caring.

I am so sorry to hear of Jim's death. I learned a lot about law enforcement and life from Jim. Jim and Al Mettenburg were the two persons most responsible for starting a police academy at Johnson County Community College.
