James Mackey Browning, 71, of Fouke, AR, died Thursday, August 24, 2017, in a Fort Smith, AR, hospital surrounded by his loving wife and children.  He was born December 8, 1945, in Fouke, AR, to Odis and Marie Burt Browning.  He was a Baptist, a member of the National Guard, and was retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Co.


He enjoyed outdoor activities such as camping and gardening, although his greatest joy in life came from being with his wife, children, and grandchildren.


He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Beatrice Browning; one son, Jay Browning; two daughters and a son-in-law, Alyson and Scott Mann and Andrea Browning; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Ruby Browning and Clyde and Jeannie Browning; one sister and brother-in-law, Diann and Billy Sanders; 6 grandchildren, Taylyn Wilson, Taylor Bowman, Bradley Browning, Michael Mann, Jacob Mann, and Mackey Browning.


Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 28, 2017, at Concord Cemetery with Frank McFerrin officiating.  Burial will be under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.


The family will receive friends from 3-5 P.M. Sunday, August 27, 2017, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.
