BUCKEL, James M. - Of Gaines, formerly of West Branch, age 57, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at his residence.



 



A memorial service will be held 12 Noon Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,



 



Pastor Steve Wood officiating.



 



Cremation has taken place.



 



In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.



 



Visitation 1-3pm and 5-8pm Sunday and 10am Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.



                       



James was born in West Branch on March 10, 1960, the son of Russell and Estella (Palm) Buckel. James retired from General Motors in 2016 after 35 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and Sunday dinners with his family.



 



Surviving are companion, Christine McGuire;



 



sons, Michael James and wife, Allison of Clio and Anthony and wife Andrea of Grand Blanc;



 



grandchildren, Avery, James and Raelyn;



 



sister, Susan McGirr of Grand Blanc and Sharon Parker of Midland;



 



and nephews, Nick and Zach.



 



He was preceded in death by his parents.

My dear friend Jim. It's been years since I've seen you, but our years of friendship, pool hall times, listening to music, playing euchre, and riding around in your red 69 Camaro were some of the best days of my life. RIP my friend.

I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. Please accept my condolences and words of encouragement. May you find comfort in the promises of Almighty God that there is a hope of seeing your loved one again.
