James Robert Byrne, 75, of Wichita Falls, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2015 at Crestview Memorial Park with Pastor Chad Stubblefield, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

A son of the late Claude William and Hazel (Boutwell) Byrne, James was born on November 18, 1939 in Monticello, Mississippi. He graduated from Odessa High School. He served our country proudly in the United States Air Force for over 19 years, retiring as a SMSgt. In March of 1990, he married Ruby Wells. Upon retiring from the U.S.A.F., James went to work for AC Delco, and later retired in 1996. James was a Scottish Rite Mason, Past Master of Wichita Falls Masonic Lodge #635, a member of DeMolay and a Boy Scout.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Ruby E. Byrne of Wichita Falls; his sons, Michael William Byrne and wife Candace, and James Robert Byrne, Jr. and wife Treva all of Iowa Park; step-sons, Jerry Lee Brock of Wichita Falls, Raymond Allen Brock and wife Ximena of Mansfield, and Samuel Edward Brock of Wichita Falls; step-daughter, Renee Montgomery and husband Robert of Archer City; his brother, Donald William Byrne and wife Sue; a sister, Linda Byrne Barone all of Odessa; grandchildren, Lindsey Dowd, Christen Addkison, Krystal White, Skylar Byrne, Josh Brock, Katrina Brock, Dustin Brock, Ignacio Barrgntos, Kristopher Brock, Matthew Brock, Ruby Brock, Bethank Hall, and Zack McCain; twenty-six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
