Not sure what to say?

Mr. Campbell is a true American hero. His many accomplishments and contributions in life will continue to impact mankind for years to come. His writings and WWII memoirs have touched many people, including me. Mr. Campbell is one of a few who has inspired the many.

Our love & sympathy to all of the family in the loss of your wonderful father. Mr. Campbell has been our much loved Franklin Street neighbor, fellow church member & good friend for many years - a very fine southern, christian gentleman. May God bless you all.

Jim was special guy We have missed him since he could not come to the "Campaigning with Lee" Civil War seminars. He was a favorite of ours among those we first met at these seminars. He was a true "Southern Gentleman".

I liked Jim very much, loved hearing his stories. I will miss him.
being a Hero do not come easily, but Jim made it look so.

Angels guide you as you sail the "Fighting Lady" to a better place.

Your friend and fellow Civil War buff, Pat Sumner

Jim was a true southern gentleman who will be sorely missed by those who knew him. My husband, Gene, and I were privileged to get to know him while attending the Virginia Tech annual seminars, "Campaigning with Lee" and while attending various functions of the Quincy camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Jim was always interested in history and willing to share his knowledge with others. Please accept my sincere sympathy for your loss.

Our deepest sympathy and love to all the family. We wish it were possible to be with you at this time. Jim was our very special friend whose memory we will treasure all of our days.
