Not sure what to say?

Surprised but pleased that this popped up in my email feed 8 years later. I'm not sure what I responded back then but will take this opportunity to do so again. Man. this guy was tough as nails. In a very good way. As a kid I remember how friendly he was to me and always asked me how I was doing and showed general interest in my answer. I respected him highly both for who he was but also what he did and sacrificed. Hope he and my dad are having a beer together.

On behalf of Jim McMurray (deceased) I would like to pass on our condolences to Mary,Kevin and the Cambell family on the loss of Colonel James Cambell. Jim often spoke to me about what a great man the Colonel was and Jim always had the greatest respect and admiration for him.

Mr. Campbell was a gem of a man and I have fond memories of him and the lessons of life that he would convey to me as a friend of Tom's. Wish there were more parents like him around today to teach kids. I know he loved his family and always wanted the best for them. My condolences go out to the entire Campbell family.

Jim was a wonderful colleague on the SD County Grand Jury of 1994-1995. He led the committee on public security with skill and diplomacy. I remember how devoted he was to Jane and his family. Good humor was another of his attributes. My deepest condolences to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Our prayers and condolences to the Campbell family.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

My condolences to the family. He was a good man.
