Not sure what to say?

I Served with Lt James Soupy Campbell in VF-11 and aboard the USS Forrestal. He was a great guy and a great Officer. He is remembered fondly by us all who Served with him. God Bless!

I served with Jim at Point Mugu NMC in Oxnard,California in 1969. He was in the VX-4 squadron and I was in Guided Missile 41. We monitored the training missile shoots. I was just an enlisted Fire Control Technician, but he was as nice to me as everyone else. I also went to Miramar N.A.S. and Top Gun VF 121. He saw me and went out of his way to say hi. He was a great guy and I´m saddened to learn of his passing just recently. He made a big impression on a 19 year old 55 years ago and I never...

I served with Soupy in VF-11 aboard USS Forrestal in 1968-1969. A superb pilot and a very fine officer, the U. S. Navy rarely has so gifted an officer on its rolls.

I served with Soupy during the 1068-69 Med Cruise aboard Forrestal with the VF-11 Red Rippers. Soupy was a consummate naval officer and a great fighter pilot. He will e missed.

I remember Soupy as a fine young officer and pilot in the Navy 1967-1969. What a shame he should go so soon. Tom Wimberly, Captain USN Retired.

I served with Soupy in VF-11 and onboard the USS FORRESTAL. He was very helpful to me, and an excellent role model at a time that I needed one. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Mr.Campbell will always be remembered by The Red Rippers that served with him aboard USS Forrestal. He was truly,an Officer and a Gentleman, but also a Friend.

debrah, so sorry to hear of jim's passing. way too early. you may not remember me but i was one of the oxnard group who invaded your wedding so many years ago. as i recall i sent you some fruit, maybe avocados one christmas that may have frozen on the porch. not certain about the story as a some considerable water has passed under my bridge. jim was a great guy and definitely one of a kind. my prayers are with you and your family.

God's Blessings to the Campbell family during your time of grief. I will surely miss "Soupy" and I am a better person for having known him. I glad, in some small way, that I was part of your lives while you were here in Washington State. Till we meet again, in this life or the next.
