James Patrick Canavan, 52, Alexandria, Va., passed away Friday, Oct. 30, at the Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, Va.
James was born in Pearl River, N.Y., on May 27, 1957, the son of Catherine (Farinella) Canavan of Warminster, who survives him, and the late Robert Canavan.

Jim was simply a delight. His smile filled any room he entered. I never failed to marvel at his astonishing talent.
Jim's commitment to his faith was inspiring. He was vigilant in his devotion with prayers and good works.

I feel so lucky to have known Jim. His great sense of humor always put a smile on my face and he always brightened up my day. He also was one of the most talented people I have ever met. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
