Not sure what to say?

Roberta,

Even though I never had the pleasure to meet your father in person, I felt as if I knew him through your stories and the person that you became. I know that his legacy shall continue through all the lives that he touched and is still a part of.

I was never aware of Dr. Cann's many accomplishments or that he served under General Patton during WWII. All I knew, was this kind, gentle man helped calm a 20 year old's childhood fear of the dentist. A fear that I'm ashamed to say had kept me without a dental checkup for more than a few years.
Needless to say, Dr. Cann had his work cut out for him and I realized right away that this man had a special touch with a needle. You never felt it, amazing. He was patient and always had a...

Dear Roberta - I have memories of being in elementary school with you at D.F. McClatchey. You and I often sat near each other, as the classes were sometimes arranged alphabetically. We shared the same initials - 'RC'. I remember you as a bright young woman and excellent student. I remember your family home on Starlight Drive and your parents and sisters. Your devotion to your father is very apparent and I know you will miss him. How fitting that his memorial service would be on Father's Day....

Though I never knew your father, I want to express my sincere condolences. While looking at the photograph in the AJC, it brought back memories of my father, a dentist born in April 1919. The dental equipment in the photograph reminded me of the equipment my dad had in his office. My dad had a very small office, and gave personalized, caring service to all. It appears as if your dad was the same type of caring, wonderful man. You have everything to be proud of, and to cherish the good...

Jim had a wonderful family. They were a neightbors of ours and were truly missed when they moved. I especially remember his sense of humor and good nature to all he met. His wife Judith, was a true Southern Lady. His three daughters were good children and well taken care of. I esprcially rmember Martha . She was of the same age as my youngest daughter and spent many fun, hilarious times together. May God bless the family and those who surrounded and supported him as they continue life without...

I started seeing Dr. Cann as a child and continued until I was an adult and he stopped practicing. He was more than just my dentist; he was my friend.
God be with you.

I worked for Dr. Cann 43 years ago at
Lenox Square. I started with him part-time, during my dental school training. He kept me on full-time after school. I was young and had much to learn. I stayed with him as his dental assistant, for three years, until I moved out of town. I spent
the next 25 years as a dental assistant. I learned much from him and have thought about him often. He was very good to me. You have my deepest sympathy and may God
you.

Hi

I practiced with Jim way back when. My daughter knew him as "Docka Dim." I knew him as a man who was very kind and patient with me.

All the best to you and yours and...
