James Michael Cannon

Last time I saw Jim was on the HCC campus walking his dog. I was driving by with my family in tow and I recognized his face as we pulled away from the traffic light. He made going to class a fun experience and kept me focus while attending Dean. I went on to graduate from Westfield State College and had a very successful career in IT. Thanks Jim, wished I stopped that evening many years ago and thanked you in person.

Brian, may God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Sorry for your loss.

Mr. Cannon gave me my start in education. He hired me as a substitute teacher at Dean in 1996. Now, 25 years later, I still remember his gentle but firm manner and quick wit. I use that model every day with my students. His memory will live on in the hundreds of students and educators who he helped shape, like myself. Sue, may you take comfort in your memories and the great love that the two of you shared. Jim was a truly great guy. All of Holyoke will miss him.

Hanging out in high school we had a lot of laughs. You were a great guy & great friend. My condolences to the entire family. RIP

My deepest condolences to the family. He was a good man who made a difference in many students lives, including mine. I am a better educator and person for having known Mr. Cannon.
