Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home - Sebring Obituary

James (Jimmy) Anthony Capodanno of Sebring and Jupiter, Florida passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025 in his home where he resided with his loving wife, Susanne, of over 32 years and their lovable dog, Alfie. Jimmy was born on October 30, 1956 in Wilmington, Delaware to Fiorendino A. Capodanno and Elizabeth T. Connor Capodanno.

He is survived by his wife, Susanne Capodanno; son, Ross Anthony Capodanno; mother, Elizabeth Lipstein; father, Fiorendino Capodanno; step-mother, Catherine C. Capodanno; sisters, Catherine Capodanno, Sharon Marconi, and Tia-Marie Capodanno; brother, Geofree Capodanno; nieces, Lauren Todd and Katherine Grebe; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Mary Griesemer, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and countless friends. He was predeceased in death by his stepfather, Fred Marconi, and his nephew and godson, Jamie Todd.

Jimmy was a voracious short-story author, an avid pickleball player, a motorcyclist, a boater, a fisherman, and more recently, a slot car racing enthusiast. He also loved to travel with his wife and was proud to have visited more than 70 countries around the world. A graduate of Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts, he went on to earn an MBA from California Coast University.

Jimmy was a man of faith, bigger than life, committed to family, quick with a smile, a laugh, and a passion to make anyone he encountered feel valued and loved. He had a gift for storytelling that carried from his professional life into his creative writing, and a charisma that filled every room. Above all, he built community and joy wherever he went.

Simply put, he was one of a kind, a husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend whose warmth, humor, and generosity of spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched.

Not sure what to say?

We loved Jimmy!!! Such a wonderful, compassionate man who was always able to bring smiles and laughter to us all. I remember when his son visited from CA and how proud Jimmy was introducing him to everyone. I know Laura’s heart was broken when she got the call this morning and shared this devastating news. I am so sorry for all of our loss of knowing Jimmy and particularly for you, Laura and Susanne. Rest in peace Jimmy.

We were very shocked & sorry to hear about Jimmy. Deepest Condolences & Sincere Sympathy to Susanne & family on this unimaginable loss. He was way too young, sure he will really be missed.

Jimmy was one of a kind!
Author and friend he will be sorely missed

We will miss his humor and infectious smile. Such a force of life. God rest his sweet soul !

From the day I learned of Jimmy’s passing, I have shared his life with at least 3-4 people a day. I know that a few must have thought that my focus on Jimmy’s influence may have seemed very exaggerated, but if they had met him, they would understand that my remembrance of him was not grandiose or overblown, but understated in terms of admiration. I told one friend today, “Once you met Jimmy, you would not hesitate to feel valued and trusting of him”. He once took the time to give me some...

I am so sorry for the loss of Jimmy to this life; and to those he loved most dearly. He was one of a kind; aptly described in the obituary. Rest in peace, sweet friend.
