Not sure what to say?

My husband Tim Emerson and I had the privilege of working on political campaigns for Ray when we lived in Rutherford from 1963 until our move to Kansas in 1974. Only now are we learning of this loss to the communities fortunate to have him as a resident and those who held him in such high esteem. Ray personified the best in community service, dedication to his church and and left us with treasured memories of a good friend. Our thoughts are with those who lost someone so special. With deepest...

Ray was an inspiration to all of those he led during his career at Union Carbide. Always had time for the new auditors coming up the ranks. Ray was a pleasure to work with and a gentleman. I traveled several times with him on long international audits....he worked hard and always made it fun. Great sense of humor!! Ray --all the best !! You are a great man!! Craig Shular

I wish his family well, he was a good man and I had the pleasure of knowing him very well at Carbide - great sence of humor and good insight in many things. It was an honor to spend time with him. May he rest in peace

Ray was a true Lafayette man and a loyal member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Even though I was not one of his fraternity brothers, Ray was always most kind to me and would always take the time to chat when we would meet at 'Pard' football games or at parties of mutual friends. He will be missed! My sincere condolences to the Carey family.

I have known Ray for over 40 years. We worked togther; that including some business travel.

He was always a team player and contributor. It was great to be around him.

MY TRIBUTE TO RAY CAREY:

It’s tough to have heroes now-a-days. In this age of constant and instantaneous media attention baring the character flaws of our political leaders, our sports stars, our religious leaders and our celebrities, few come out unscathed. So many of us have seen the reputations sullied of people we admire.

Ray Carey was and is one of my heroes. I have known him for at least 45 of my 51 years on this earth and I have never heard anyone say a bad word...

Ray was a great person who always took the time to listen. He gave us all a great example to follow and will be sorely missed.
